The Personal Care Attendant – Medical program is a comprehensive 23-week training program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, and community health care settings. Students gain the knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies to assist patients with daily living activities, support nursing staff, and contribute to patient comfort and safety. The program combines classroom instruction with a supervised Clinical Placement.

  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely
  • Take blood pressure, temperature and pulse; report fluid intake and output
  • Observe and monitor patient status; document care on charts

  • Administer first aid in emergency situations within scope of competencies
  • Transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher for treatment or surgery
  • Apply infection-control and WHMIS / MSDS protocols
